R&D Executive / QA Executive

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research, laboratory and analytical work for new product development (NPD) projects.
• Conduct research, testing and analytical activities for existing product improvement and optimisation.
• Assist in product formulation, sample preparation, product trials, sensory evaluation and production trials.
• Evaluate raw materials, ingredients and packaging materials for product development and quality purposes.
• Conduct incoming raw material, in-process and finished-product quality inspections and testing.
• Investigate product quality issues, non-conformities and customer complaints, and assist in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of GMP, HACCP and FSSC 22000 & HALAL requirements.
• Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, suppliers and other departments to resolve quality and production-related issues.
• Identify opportunities for product, process and quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, food safety requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Undertake other duties, projects and responsibilities assigned by management as required.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or a related field.
• Working experience in R&D, QA/QC, food manufacturing or a related field is an added advantage.
• Exposure to ISO, HACCP, GMP and/or FSSC 22000 would be an advantage.
• Knowledge or experience in Halal requirements is an added advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with different departments.
• Proactive, responsible, detail-oriented and a good team player.
• Able to work independently, multitask and take on new challenges.
• Able to travel when required.
