R&D - Executive/ Senior Executive

🔹 About the Role

Otafuku Sauce Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an R&D Executive / Senior Executive to join our dynamic research and development team. You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, developing new products, and ensuring our sauces meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and halal compliance. This is a unique opportunity to shape product portfolios for ASEAN and global markets while collaborating closely with our Japan HQ.

🔹 Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Product Development: Develop new products and improve existing ones based on customer requirements and company objectives.
• Trials & Prototyping: Conduct product trials, evaluations, and prototype development to ensure feasibility and quality.
• Raw Materials & Packaging: Assess and support the introduction of new halal raw materials and packaging materials.
• Compliance & Documentation: Prepare ingredient declarations, product specifications, and labeling information in line with regulatory requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production, QA/QC, purchasing, and sales teams to support successful product implementation.
• Technical Support: Provide manufacturing instructions and technical support during trial and commercial production runs.
• Knowledge Sharing: Share product information internally and provide technical guidance to relevant departments.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve product-related issues, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
• Continuous Improvement: Support ongoing improvement activities related to products, processes, and materials.
• Innovation: Create new product concepts and applications based on market research and consumer trends.

🔹 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in product development, R&D, or food manufacturing (halal-certified experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of food regulations, labeling requirements, and ingredient declarations.
• Skilled in microbiological analysis and familiar with raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Possess own transport.
