R&D Manager

Key responsibilities

• Leading and managing the R&D team to develop products in furniture that align with company objectives and market opportunities
• Overseeing the full product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to prototyping, testing, and commercialisation
• Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify design trends, customer needs, and opportunities for innovation
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure seamless product development and launch
• Staying abreast of industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial design
• Mentoring and developing R&D team members, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement
• Presenting findings, prototypes, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in R&D, product development, or industrial design especially in furniture products
• Proven track record of successfully managing R&D teams and leading innovative product development projects from conception to market launch
• Strong knowledge of industrial design principles, materials science, manufacturing processes, and design software (CAD, 3D modelling tools)
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines
• Leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience in team management, mentoring, and developing talent
• Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of sustainability and eco-friendly design practices is advantageous
