R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in mechanical design and development activities, including proposals, feasibility studies, conceptualisation, engineering analysis, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and product evaluation.
• Develop and optimise mechanical designs for new and existing products based on customer requirements, technical specifications, performance, quality, and cost considerations.
• Prepare and review detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, models, assemblies, and engineering documentation.
• Source, evaluate, and select suitable materials, components, and mechanical parts based on technical requirements, availability, quality, and cost.
• Conduct design analysis, calculations, testing, and validation to ensure the reliability and functionality of mechanical components and systems.
• Work closely with the manufacturing team throughout the product development cycle to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and meet production requirements.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Software, QA/QC, Production, and other relevant departments to ensure successful product development and integration.
• Identify and implement design enhancements, cost reduction initiatives, quality improvements, and innovative engineering solutions.
• Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other technical documents.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor/HOD from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in mechanical design, product development, machinery, automation, or a related engineering field. Fresh graduate are also welcome to apply.
• Strong hands-on experience in 2D and 3D mechanical design, preferably using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering practices.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project planning skills.
• Able to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet project deadlines.
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Mandarin will be an added advantage for communication with customers, suppliers, or internal stakeholders.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
