At Hoop Medical, we develop life-saving and life-changing medical balloon technology that's used in medical devices around the world. Working alongside incredible customers, you'll play a direct role in creating devices that save lives.

We're looking for a R&D / Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on turning ideas into reality—someone who thinks with their brain AND builds with their hands.

What You'll Do

  • Design, upgrade, and build new processes, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing and testing high-performance medical balloon components
  • Take projects from initial concept through to commissioned, working systems
  • Work in cleanroom/ISO-13485 manufacturing environments to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Build machinery and equipment using CAD (SolidWorks or Onshape), CAM, CNC machining, and 3D printing
  • Support our design-services offering by helping design and develop new medical devices for customers
  • Communicate with customers via video calls and email
  • Write short, concise engineering reports
  • Collaborate with the R&D team on innovative solutions

What You'll Need

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working in Engineering or Manufacturing or R&D
  • Demonstrated ability to make things with your own hands (motorbike, furniture, electronics, baked goods—we want to see what you've built)
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills
  • Action-oriented mindset—you're a doer who gets things done
  • Experience or interest in: CAD, CAM, CNC machining, and 3D printing, polymer processing, medical devices

Bonus Points For

  • Previous work in medical devices or regulated industries like aerospace or defence
  • Hands-on machining or fabrication experience
  • Experience implementing engineering into ISO-13485 certified manufacturing / quality management systems.
