R&D- Packaging Developer I

该职位来源于猎聘 ROLE SUMMARY The Packaging Developer I – Conversion is responsible to support the defining, standardizing, and governing end to end packaging development frameworks across multiple packaging conversion technologies, including cigarette packaging, modern oral packaging (e.g. injection blow moulded cans), flexible packaging, cartons, labels, and secondary packaging. The role ensures consistent, scalable, and compliant packaging development execution by establishing robust processes for technology transfer, validation, qualification, prototyping, and commercialization across regions and suppliers. This position acts as a technical integrator across R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external converters, enabling efficient deployment of packaging solutions that meet performance, regulatory, manufacturability, and cost objectives. ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operational/Professional

• Define and standardize end to end packaging development processes and governance across packaging technologies
• Establish and maintain packaging development frameworks, decision gates, and technical approval standards
• Own packaging specification structures, technical documentation standards, and lifecycle management
• Lead technology transfer and commercialization activities, ensuring manufacturing and supplier readiness
• Develop and govern validation, qualification, and trial protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable)
• Define prototyping strategies, sampling standards, and design for manufacturability assessments Business
• Enable first time right commercialization and reduction of development and transfer risks
• Ensure packaging solutions meet cost, quality, regulatory, and operational requirements
• Support regional and global scale up, site transfers, and supplier changes
• Contribute to continuous improvement, complexity reduction, and standardization initiatives Management / Collaboration
• Drive cross functional collaboration across R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external suppliers
• Act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex packaging development issues
• Support supplier onboarding, technical capability assessment, and continuous capability uplift EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
• 3 – 4 years of experience in packaging development, packaging technology, or packaging operations.
• Strong experience across multiple packaging conversion technologies.
• Experience in FMCG, tobacco, plastic, pharmaceutical, food, or consumer goods industries preferred.
• Proven experience in commercialization, technology transfer, and supplier management.
• Experience developing SOPs, protocols, specifications, and standardized workflows.
• Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Polymer Science, or related discipline.
• Preferably speaks English & Chinese (Mandarin) fluently.
