R&D Product & Packaging Development Technologist

We are looking for a R&D Product & Packaging Development Technologist to join our awesome team and support our ambitious growth plans. Reporting to the R&D Manager (Jerky and Smallgoods), the R&D Product & Packaging Development Technologist is involved in end-to-end product development and innovation across the APAC region, from ideation through to production readiness—ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless cross-functional collaboration.

Thriving in a fast-paced FMCG environment, the successful candidate brings strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and a sharp eye for risk and detail. They will work closely with teams across Marketing, Technical, Operations, Procurement, and Quality to drive initiatives from brief to launch.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are product and packaging development, cost and project management, R&D documentation, food law compliance, and equipment management.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in R&D, product development, or technical project management within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
• Experience in end-to-end product development projects, from concept through to commercialisation.
• Hands of experience in recipe development, packaging trials, leading manufacturing trials, including reporting and validation work.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance (including HACCP, FSQ, allergen management, and export requirements).
• Proficiency in using PLM systems, BOM management, and product costing tools (e.g., BC, SAP, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Planning, and Operations.
• Experience in value engineering, recipe optimisation, and margin improvement initiatives.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
