R&D Second Source RM

Job Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate raw materials from local and international suppliers for R&D and second-source development.
• Conduct raw material testing and evaluation for various product categories, including Home Care, Sunscreen, Skincare, and Toiletry.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for chemical and physical testing of raw materials.
• Evaluate raw material quality, performance, compatibility, and stability in formulations.
• Conduct sensory evaluation, including Triangle Tests to assess color and fragrance differences.
• Evaluate raw material efficacy through laboratory testing, including Preservative Challenge Tests.
• Support SPF/PA and Water Resistance testing for sunscreen ingredients and formulations.
• Analyze test results and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with R&D, QA, QC, Purchasing, and suppliers throughout the raw material qualification process.
• Support the development and qualification of alternative/second-source raw materials to ensure product quality and supply continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or related fields.
• Experience in R&D, Raw Material Development, Cosmetic/Personal Care, or related industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of raw material evaluation, formulation, stability testing, and laboratory testing.
• Experience with sensory evaluation, Triangle Test, Preservative Challenge Test, SPF/PA, or Water Resistance testing will be an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively with internal departments and external suppliers.
• Good command of English for communication and technical documentation.
