As our innovation pipeline continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced R&D Section Manager – Functional Jelly Innovation to lead the development of next-generation functional jelly products that combine great taste, enjoyable textures, and meaningful health benefits.

Your Mission:

Lead the innovation and development of functional jelly products from consumer insight to commercial success.

You will create products that delight consumers while helping SAND-M Global become a leader in functional confectionery and wellness snacking across Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Functional Jelly Innovation

• Lead end-to-end development of functional jelly products from concept through commercial launch.
• Develop innovative products across wellness, beauty, digestive health, energy, sleep, hydration, immunity, and emerging health categories.
• Create differentiated products through ingredient innovation, texture design, flavour development, and consumer experience.

Product Development & Commercialization

• Develop formulations that are delicious, stable, scalable, and commercially viable.
• Lead laboratory development, pilot production, factory trials, validation, and commercialization.
• Improve existing products to enhance taste, texture, shelf life, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Consumer & Market Innovation

• Translate consumer insights, market trends, and emerging technologies into successful product concepts.
• Benchmark local and global innovations to identify future opportunities.
• Build a strong innovation pipeline aligned with the company's long-term growth strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with:

• Marketing
• Brand Management
• Procurement
• Quality Assurance
• Regulatory Affairs
• Supply Chain
• Manufacturing
• Packaging Development
• External manufacturing partners
• to ensure successful product launches.

Ingredient & Technology Development

• Evaluate new functional ingredients, gelling systems, sweeteners, flavour technologies, and processing methods.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop proprietary formulations and differentiated product platforms.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during scale-up and commercialization.

Regulatory & Quality

• Ensure all products comply with Thai and international food regulations.
• Support technical documentation and product registration.
• Maintain the highest standards of product quality, consistency, and food safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in food product development, with experience leading projects or small teams.
• Experience in jelly, gummy, confectionery, functional foods, dairy desserts, snacks, or related food manufacturing.
• Proven track record of successfully launching new food products.
• Strong knowledge of hydrocolloids, texture systems, ingredient functionality, flavour development, shelf-life stability, and food processing.
• Experience managing pilot trials, factory scale-up, and commercialization.
• Strong analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in Thai and English.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following are highly preferred:

• Functional jelly
• Gummy supplements
• Confectionery
• Gel desserts
• Dairy desserts
• Functional foods
• Nutraceutical products
• Better-for-you snacks
• Texture and hydrocolloid systems
