R&D Service Delivery Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of the R&D organization, you will serve as R&D Solution Delivery Engineer, leading the final step of validation of Solutions (SASE, SSE, ZTNA) in a Service oriented delivery (SASE as a Service).

In this key role, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our services to our customers. For this you will be involved in following activities:

Validating Security services (SASE, SSE, SWG, ZTNA, CASB, FWaaS…) according to agree upon test strategy with other teams (QA, SRE, CSO …):

1/ End to End validation of Security portfolio (SSE, SWG, ZTNA, CASB, FWaaS …):

• Validation of zero trust and security policies
• Endurance testing against real traffic and real attacks / threats as much as possible.
• Challenge our AI models for attack detection.
• Across the different use cases (nomad users, SDWAN sites, interop with other networks or clouds …)

2/ End to End validation of the SASE as a Service solution:

• Full coverage of the network management plane (deployments, configurations, upgrades …) and cloud operations with nominal cases and error cases
• Operability in general and User eXperience
• Maintainability (Observability on metrics and Logs, Alerting …)

3/ High Availability and Business continuity (+ Disaster Response Plan)

4/ Performance:

• Scalability on traffic and security
• User experience (Application Performance Monitoring)
• but also, on Threat response for Security features

Ensure traceability of Test coverage and Quality with metrics

• Maximize coverage and continuously seek to extend it
• Seeking Total Quality

Develop a culture of Excellence in Solution Delivery

• Contribute to Product Life Cycle through the different Gate Reviews
• Transparency with Management. Our goal is to provide full awareness of the real quality to let Dev and Ops decide whether a release is fit for delivery or not.
• Embrace Risk: similarly to SRE principles we shall explore error cases / disasters scenario to make sure our response plans are in place and can handle most unexpected situations in the field

Continuously improve our validation quality:

1/ Continuous improvement based on Support & ticket backlog:

• Assist Customer Support Organization (CSO) in investigations (reproduce issues …)
• Conducting Root cause Analysis on Critical /High / Major issues found on field to fix why we overlooked those root causes.

2/ Capturing Return of Experience from field teams (SRE, CSO, CMSP and clients at large) through regular reviews to further extend Tests coverage and quality, and improve our Observability (Metrics, Logs) with SRE and R&D teams

Profile and skills:

To successfully carry out the role of a R&D Service Delivery Engineer, a candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

Proven experience (10+ years) in Telco and Security products validation:

• Skilled in Test frameworks and automation (Python, Xray-Jira, RobotFramework)
• Experience with AI augmented automation is a plus
• Experience with Telco equipment validation: preferably on manufacturer side, or on Operator side.
• Experience with validation of Cybersecurity product is a plus (SASE …)

MSc in Telecom or Computer Science

Excellent English communication skills.

Ability to prioritize effectively and make decisions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience working in international teams.
