- Develop features across multiple layers of the system, including user interfaces, application software, instrument control, and hardware interaction.
- Collaborate with FPGA, hardware, system, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to deliver robust product solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making for platform and product development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues involving software, hardware, and embedded technologies.
- Develop and maintain automation tools, validation frameworks, and diagnostic utilities.
- Partner with engineering teams across multiple global sites to execute development plans and deliver high-quality product releases.
- Continuously improve software quality, engineering processes, and development productivity by adopting modern development practices and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong software development experience using modern C++, C#, or similar programming languages.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, functional programming concepts, abstraction, modularity, concurrency, design patterns, and maintainable software architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to design scalable, maintainable, and testable software systems using sound architectural and engineering principles.
- Experience designing, implementing, and debugging complex software systems.
- Familiarity with software development tools, version control systems, and collaborative engineering practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Native-level or fluent proficiency in Japanese.
- Professional proficiency in English with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with globally distributed engineering teams.
- Ability to work onsite in Kobe, Japan as a member of a local engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of RF, microwave, wireless communication, or electronic test and measurement concepts.
- Experience developing software for instrumentation or hardware-integrated systems.
- Experience with hardware control, device communication protocols, embedded systems, or real-time software.
- Familiarity with FPGA-based systems and hardware/software integration.
- Experience with Windows desktop application development.
- Experience with Python and software test automation frameworks.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools and workflows, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, large language models, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate AI-assisted development practices into software engineering workflows, including design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple technical domains, including application software, user interfaces, hardware control, FPGA-integrated systems, and RF test and measurement technologies.
