R&D Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new product concepts and improve existing products, including texture, scent, format and the overall consumer experience
• Scout new ingredients, actives and technologies, and turn promising ideas into development projects
• Design, adjust and scale formulas from lab to pilot to production, in line with Thai FDA requirements
• Keep accurate, version-controlled records of formulas, BOMs, specifications and trial results
• Run the development workflow: concept → formulation → trial → testing → approval → production handover
• Plan and run lab trials, stability, compatibility and sensory tests
• Prepare complete production handover packages and support first production runs on-site
• Work closely with Marketing, Production, QA/QC and Procurement so information is consistent and traceable
• Identify risks before production and prevent repeat errors through root-cause fixes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on formulation experience in cosmetics, personal care, wellness or FMCG
• Has taken at least one product from concept to commercial launch
• Knowledge of Thai FDA cosmetic regulations
• Strong attention to detail, with a habit of double-checking data before handover
• Structured and organized, with good documentation and follow-up habits
• Good product taste and sensory judgement
• Comfortable working hands-on in a factory environment
• Able to work across Bangkok and Suan Phueng*
• Fluent Thai; good English reading skills for technical documents

(Preferred qualifications)

• Experience in both wellness and cosmetic categories (e.g. aromatherapy, body care, skincare, home fragrance).

• Experience setting up or improving an R&D documentation system, formula database or stage-gate process.

• Familiarity with GMP, ISO 22716 or similar quality systems.

• Exposure to natural / clean-beauty ingredients and sustainability-driven formulation.

• Experience with fragrance evaluation or working with perfumers / fragrance houses.

• Master's degree in a relevant scientific field.

• Experience with wellness products such as aromatherapy, body care or home fragrance
• Experience setting up R&D documentation systems or working with GMP / ISO 22716
