The Role

The R&D Technician will support R&D projects aimed at developing innovative dry-mix mortar solutions and current product improvement. In addition, the intern will provide daily support for lab management, including but not limited to EHS and 5S practices, equipment maintenance, documentation, storage, and shipment.

Key Responsibilities

EHS and 5S

• Work cooperatively with R&D and QC teams to enhance laboratory safety and maintain 5S standards.

Research & Development

• Support R&D initiatives by conducting accurate and efficient experiments, delivering high-quality results under supervisor guidance.
• Contribute to the development of innovative cementitious dry-mix mortar products such as render, screed, skim coat, and tile adhesive.
• Optimize formulations of cementitious dry-mix mortar products to achieve sustainability and balance between cost and performance.

Daily Support

• Actively participate in daily laboratory operations, ensuring proper maintenance of instruments and thorough documentation of R&D papers, including SOPs, TDS, and SDS.
• Assist in the establishment of new test methods, procurement of materials, storage and shipment, and coordination of external testing.

Requirements

1. A bachelor’s degree or above in civil engineering, materials science, or a relevant engineering or science field
2. A strong interest in research and product development, a passion for achieving high deliverables, and openness to multicultural environments
3. Fluent English communication skills are a must
4. Proficiency in Cantonese is preferred.
5. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
6. Experience with relevant testing methods (BS, EN, ASTM, GB) for cementitious materials is preferred.
7. Experience in construction materials but not limited to concrete and mortar is preferred.
