About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Rapid Response Manager on the YouTube Trust and Safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our policies are enforced effectively end-to-end, including from the point of identification of possible violation, to removal and appeals. You will work with cross-functional teams to provide YouTube’s response to emerging escalations. You will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.

This role will require on-call work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on YouTube’s Community Guidelines, manage related escalations, and drive policy and process improvements across multiple policy areas.
  • Build cross-functional product expertise to accelerate resolution times, collaborating with Engineering partners to build preventative tooling and conducting rigorous postmortems to stop future systemic failures.
  • Review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and YouTube Partner Program policies and draft and review executive communications, partnering cross-functionally to land sensitive policy decisions regionally.
