React Developer

Title: React Developer (UI/Front-End)

SUMMARY
The React Developer builds and maintains user interfaces for the Maine Turnpike Authority's internal web applications. You'll work alongside our C# and API developers and help set front-end standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Build responsive, accessible React interfaces from UI/UX designs
• Develop reusable components and maintain our shared component library
• Consume REST APIs from our back-end services
• Participate in code reviews and shape front-end architecture decisions
• Implement and maintain front-end testing practices

REQUIRED

• 3+ years of professional front-end development, with React as your primary framework
• Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with REST API integration, component libraries, and responsive design
• Experience with source control systems and modern build tooling
• Working knowledge of web accessibility standards
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university in computer sciences; Additional professional work beyond minimum required may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for education requirement.

PREFERRED

• 5+ years of experience across a variety of projects
• Experience mentoring or leading other developers
• Azure DevOps
• TypeScript, Next.js, SSR/static generation, and front-end testing frameworks (Jest, etc.)
• UI/UX design skills; familiarity with C# or .NET

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to work for long periods sitting at a desk in front of a computer and the ability to focus.
• Requires close and distance visual acuity and ability to adjust focus quickly.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at times.
• Often required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate the keyboard of a personal computer and other office equipment.
• Professional office work environment with occasional travel to other work sites where there may be exposure to outside weather conditions and/or locales with mechanical equipment that may emit fumes.
• Normal hours of work are eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours per week, Monday to Friday; may be subject to working some non-routine hours.
• Must be available to come in early or work late on occasion, including weekends.
• Ability travel to different MTA sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $88,525.00 - $145,808.00 per year
