What they need
Capodagli Property Company is a full-service real estate development, construction, and property management firm specializing in transformational multifamily and mixed-use real estate projects.
We have developed, own, and manage over 7,000 rental apartments valued at over $2 billion.
Our mission at Capodagli Property Company is to revive emerging cities and towns and stimulate their growth and evolution. We accomplish this through the development of a comprehensive and collaborative business plan customized for each project to maximize the value of underutilized lands.
Capodagli Property Company was built to be fully capable of completing projects in an efficient, timely, budget-conscious and environmentally friendly manner and, as we work toward the future, we will continue to instill our beliefs in the minds of the next generation of the Capodagli Property Company family and organization.
Founded in 1970, Capodagli Property Company is recognized for its ability to envision thriving communities on barren parcels of raw land. We pride ourselves on being pioneer developers of affordable luxury properties in urban and suburban areas throughout New Jersey and New York. Since inception, Capodagli Property Company has completed over a billion dollars' worth of development, construction, and management projects.

The Manager of Real Estate Development & Approvals will serve as a key extension of executive leadership in Florida, taking ownership of projects through the approval and predevelopment process and driving them toward construction.
This is a role for a doer and problem-solver. We are looking for someone who can take a complicated development issue, determine the path forward, engage the right professionals, and drive it through resolution.
The successful candidate may come from real estate development, land use or real estate law, civil engineering, planning, entitlements, or a related field. What matters most is a deep understanding of the Florida development process and a proven ability to move projects forward.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Florida projects through zoning, entitlements, site plan approvals, permitting, utilities, and other governmental processes.
- Develop and execute strategies to move projects from predevelopment to construction-ready.
- Represent ownership in meetings with municipalities, agencies, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify project roadblocks early and take ownership of driving them through resolution.
- Select, coordinate, and manage attorneys, engineers, architects, planners, consultants, and other outside professionals.
- Hold project teams accountable for deadlines, deliverables, and results.
- Review and understand plans, agreements, approvals, reports, and other development documentation.
- Maintain visibility into project schedules, risks, priorities, and critical next steps.
- Provide executive leadership with clear updates, recommendations, and solutions.
- Coordinate the transition of approved projects to the General Contractor and assist with owner-side approval, permitting, or municipal matters that arise during construction.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience in real estate development, land use or real estate law, civil engineering, planning, entitlements, owner's representation, or a related field.
- Significant experience navigating Florida real estate development and approval processes.
- Strong understanding of zoning, entitlements, permitting, municipal approvals, and development regulations.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams of attorneys, engineers, architects, planners, and consultants.
- Strong professional relationships within Florida's real estate development community are highly desirable.
- Construction knowledge is a plus, but this is not a construction management position.
- Strong judgment, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly proactive with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and operate independently.
- Must reside in Florida and be willing to travel as projects require.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone who knows how to get projects approved and get things done.
You do not need to personally have every answer. You need the experience to know what needs to happen next, who to call, and how to keep everyone moving. When a roadblock appears, you don't simply identify it. You find a way through it.
No Agencies or Third-Party Recruiters: Capodagli Property Company is conducting this search directly. We are not accepting unsolicited resumes, candidate submissions, or recruiting services from staffing agencies or third-party recruiters for this position. Please do not contact our team regarding recruiting services.
