About the Experienced Butcher role

• Requirements: Proven qualifications in butchery alongside practical expertise in meat processing.
• Pay range: Competitive hourly rates reflective of experience, approximately $35 to $40 per hour.
• Location: Melbourne metropolitan area.

Key responsibilities

• Break down whole carcasses into smaller, accurately portioned meat cuts using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Prepare value-added meat products such as sausages and schnitzels, maintaining consistent quality standards.
• Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations including temperature maintenance and cleaning protocols under established safety frameworks.
• Manage inventory by ordering supplies, rotating stock, and minimising waste effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace that complies with relevant food safety legislation.
• Work within a roster that may include early shifts and weekends to meet business demands.
• Deliver knowledgeable customer service, assist with product displays, and respond to sales queries.
• Collaborate with team members to support production and sales activities.
• Potential for supervisory duties including scheduling and mentoring junior staff members.
