Rebar Engineer

This role ensures that rebar designs, shop drawings, fabrication schedules, and installation activities comply with project specifications, structural drawings, industry standards, and safety requirements. The Rebar Engineer collaborates with structural engineers, project managers, detailers, fabricators, and site teams to support efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design

• Review structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare and verify rebar shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and reinforcement details.
• Interpret structural engineering plans and identify reinforcement requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Coordinate design changes and revisions with project stakeholders.

Project Coordination

• Liaise with structural engineers, contractors, fabricators, and site personnel.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support regarding reinforcement works.
• Resolve design conflicts and constructability issues related to reinforcement installation.
• Coordinate material requirements and fabrication schedules to meet project timelines.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Review and approve rebar detailing and fabrication outputs.
• Conduct inspections and verify that installed reinforcement complies with approved drawings.
• Monitor quality assurance procedures during fabrication and installation.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection records, and documentation.

Quantity & Cost Management

• Perform quantity take-offs and estimate rebar requirements.
• Optimize reinforcement layouts to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
• Support procurement by preparing material requisitions and reviewing supplier submissions.
• Assist in cost control and budget monitoring for reinforcement works.

Safety

• Promote compliance with company and project safety standards.
• Identify potential safety risks related to reinforcement fabrication and installation activities.
• Support implementation of safe work practices on-site.
