Breads Bakery is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to join our purchasing and receiving team. Breads Bakery is a New York bakery dedicated to producing handmade breads and pastries using traditional baking techniques, and providing our guests with an unforgettable experience.

Our receiver plays an integral role in setting each department up for success by maintaining and coordinating inventory and orders. The purchasing and receiving team consists of the receiver, purchasing administrator, and financial controller. The team oversees inventory of all ingredients, dry goods, packaging and equipment at our flagship location and warehouse.

• Background in the food & beverage industry (>1-year experience required)

Position Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Receive, store, and maintain all deliveries and inventory at our Union Square bakery and warehouse.

• Communicate with all departments and Breads Bakery locations to ensure proper deliveries, inventory and quality are maintained- recognizing that every day presents varying needs and adjusting numbers to minimize waste and optimize sales.

• Maintain strong relationships with current vendors, communicating concerns as they arise and rejecting orders that don't meet our expectations for quality.

• Facilitate regular check-ins with purchasing administrator regarding upcoming orders, anticipated credit memos, warehouse deliveries, and so on.

• Maintain a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing space in accordance with operations and sanitation guidelines.

• Foster a positive work environment.

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work a full 8-hour shift on your feet.

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base hourly rate of $21-$24 per hour, based on experience.
