Receiving Agent

Job Purpose:
Ensures proper receipt of materials based on supplied paperwork, and maintains inventory of inbound and outbound cargo.

Duties:

• Inventories general cargo according to DGM standards and customer specifications.
• Verify documentation and contents of cargo upon receipt.
• Check cargo for damage.
• Stage cargo in designated area.
• Locate cargo in appropriate area.
• Demonstrate safe lifting techniques and adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Ensure all documentation is correct and turned into office personnel in a timely manner.
• Participate in clean-up activities and ensure good housekeeping skills.
• Must demonstrate safe decision making in all aspects of work.
• Consistently at work on time.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years warehouse experience preferred.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and written procedures.
• Ability to prioritize work based on safety, quality, and productivity demands.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and personnel.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
• Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects.
• Ability to work prolonged and/or irregular hours.
