What they need

If you enjoy being the friendly face of a busy professional office, keeping things organised, and helping people feel looked after from the moment they contact us, this could be a great fixed-term opportunity.

At Marks & Worth Lawyers, we believe that great client experiences start the moment someone walks through the door or picks up the phone.

We're looking for a warm, organised and people-focused Reception & Administration Support team member to join us on a fixed-term basis while a member of our team steps into another internal opportunity. This is a chance to become an important part of a supportive team, learn how a busy law firm operates, and play a key role in looking after both our clients and our people.

About Us

Marks & Worth is a Dunedin-based law firm with a strong reputation for practical, down-to-earth legal advice. We aim to make the legal process feel clearer, calmer and more human for our clients, and we bring that same approach to the way we work as a team.

We have worked hard to build a workplace where people enjoy coming to work, support one another, and have the opportunity to grow and develop. We value people who are kind, capable, curious and willing to pitch in when needed.

About the Role

This role sits at the heart of our firm.

This is a front-of-house role with real variety. You'll be one of the first people our clients meet or speak with, helping create the warm, professional and human-centred experience Marks & Worth is known for. You'll also provide practical administrative support across the firm, helping keep the office running smoothly while supporting our legal and operations teams.

No two days are exactly the same, but your responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Welcoming clients and managing incoming calls and enquiries.
  • Ensuring clients receive a professional and caring experience, whether in person or over the phone.
  • Managing mail, couriers and our general inbox.
  • Coordinating meeting room bookings and helping with meetings, events and team celebrations.
  • Ordering office supplies and supporting the day-to-day running of the office.
  • Assisting with client onboarding and Anti-Money Laundering requirements.
  • Filing, scanning, archiving and managing documents.
  • Providing administrative support to our lawyers, executive assistants and wider team.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in creating a positive experience for clients and colleagues alike.

You might be the right fit if you:

  • Have previous reception or administration experience, or transferable experience in a busy client-facing role.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally.
  • Are naturally organised and enjoy keeping things running smoothly.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Are comfortable using technology and learning new systems.
  • Can juggle competing priorities while staying calm, friendly and practical, even when the phone is ringing, the courier has arrived, and someone is looking for a meeting room.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
  • Enjoy being part of a team and supporting those around you.

You won't be expected to know everything on day one. We'll provide support, guidance and training as you learn our systems, processes and ways of working.

Experience in a legal or professional services environment would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Why Join Marks & Worth?

This role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to learn about many different aspects of how a legal practice operates.

Most importantly, you'll join a team that genuinely enjoys working together, supports one another, and values people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and help where needed.

Applications

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you — and if you know someone who would be a great fit, please feel free to pass this opportunity on.

To apply please submit your current CV and a covering letter outlining why you're interested in the role. Applications will be assessed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early if this sounds like the right fit.

If you would like to view a position description or ask any questions about the role, please contact Nicole Klemetson, Practice & Compliance Coordinator via phone [03 474 9272](tel:03 474 9272) or email [email protected]
