Reception & Sales Associate

The Bar Method Seattle Phinney Ridge is seeking a warm, dependable, and organized person to join our team as a part-time Reception & Sales Associate. This is a consistent, long-term part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours.

Our studio is known for its supportive community, attention to detail, and commitment to helping clients feel stronger and more confident in every class. Our Reception & Sales Associates play an essential role in creating the warm, polished, and professional experience our clients expect.

This is both a client-service and sales role. Our front desk team helps prospective and existing clients understand their options, recommends memberships and class packages based on their needs, and confidently asks for the sale. You don't need previous fitness-industry or sales experience, but you should genuinely enjoy talking with people and feel comfortable making recommendations and discussing pricing.

Primary Responsibilities

· Deliver an exceptional client experience before, during, and after class

· Warmly greet new and existing clients and guide them through their studio experience

· Get to know our clients, understand their needs, and build genuine relationships

· Clearly explain membership options, class packages, promotions, and studio offerings

· Recommend appropriate membership and package options and confidently ask for the sale

· Use our scheduling and point-of-sale systems to sell memberships, class packages, and retail products

· Identify client needs or concerns and communicate relevant information to instructors and studio ownership

· Help maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and welcoming studio

· Open or close the studio independently, depending on scheduled shifts

· Pitch in wherever needed as part of a small, collaborative team

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

· Are warm, engaging, and comfortable talking with many kinds of people

· Are looking for a stable, ongoing part-time role

· Can commit to at least three regular shifts per week, approximately 15 hours total, including at least two weekend shifts per month

· Are comfortable discussing pricing, recommending memberships, and asking clients to make a purchase

· Are exceptionally dependable and follow through on commitments

· Have strong communication skills and good judgment

· Notice details and take pride in keeping things organized and running smoothly

· Can work independently and take initiative when something needs attention

You don't need to be a high-pressure salesperson—we aren't looking for one. But you should be comfortable listening to what a client needs, recommending the right option, explaining its value, and asking if they're ready to get started.

Dependability matters. Our Reception & Sales Associates are trusted to open and close the studio independently and are an important part of keeping classes and studio operations running smoothly. We're looking for someone who values being part of a small, reliable team and can commit to a consistent schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay is $21.30 per hour or the current Seattle minimum wage, whichever is higher.

Studio benefits include complimentary Bar Method classes, guest passes, and a 25% retail discount. Health insurance and 401(k) participation are available after six months of employment for employees working 25 hours or more per week.

The Bar Method Seattle Phinney Ridge is located at 6726 Greenwood Avenue North at 68th Street and offers morning, midday, and evening classes seven days a week.

The Bar Method was created under the guidance of physical therapists to provide a safe, challenging, and effective workout that strengthens all major muscle groups and improves flexibility. Our Phinney Ridge studio is known for excellent instruction, a welcoming community, attention to detail, and a highly personal client experience.
