What they need

The role

We are looking for an exceptional all-rounder to become the central point of support within our busy, family-owned manufacturing business.

This is much more than a traditional reception position. You will provide personal assistance to the Managing Director, coordinate customer and job administration, support our sales and operations teams, help keep the office and showroom running smoothly, and willingly turn your hand to whatever needs doing.

Our current team member is leaving us for an exciting career opportunity within her previous industry. She has been an incredibly valued part of our business, and we are now looking for someone equally caring, capable and dependable to make this varied role their own.

No two days will be exactly the same. You might be welcoming a customer, preparing job paperwork, assisting with a supplier query, organising the Managing Director’s day, following up an installation detail, helping a team member solve a problem, or making sure the showroom and shared spaces are looking their best.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming customers and managing incoming telephone and email enquiries
  • Providing day-to-day personal and administrative support to the Managing Director
  • Preparing, checking and maintaining customer and job documentation
  • Coordinating information between customers, designers, production and installers
  • Scheduling appointments and assisting with calendars and priorities
  • Following up outstanding information to help keep jobs moving
  • Assisting with invoicing, payments and general accounts administration
  • Ordering office, factory, showroom and staff supplies
  • Helping organise meetings, events and team activities
  • Keeping our office, showroom, kitchen and shared facilities clean, tidy and welcoming
  • Taking ownership of the many small but important tasks that keep a business running smoothly
  • Providing general administrative support wherever it is most needed

About you

You will be someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and takes pride in making life easier for the people around you.

You are likely to be:

  • Warm, friendly and professional with customers
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and able to see what needs doing without always being asked
  • Reliable, trustworthy and comfortable handling confidential information
  • Calm and practical when plans change or several things need attention at once
  • A confident communicator with strong written and verbal English
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Willing to help with everything from important administration to everyday practical tasks
  • Someone who takes ownership, follows things through and does not consider any reasonable task beneath them

Previous experience in reception, office administration, personal assistance, customer service or job administration would be valuable. Experience within a manufacturing, construction, interiors or trade-based business would be helpful but is not essential.

More important is your attitude: you care, you notice the details, and you enjoy being the person others can depend on.

About us

Innovative Interiors is an established New Zealand-owned business designing, manufacturing and installing custom wardrobes and storage solutions. Our showroom and manufacturing facility are based in Mt Wellington, and every project is managed by our team from initial design through to installation.

We are a close-knit, hardworking team that values honesty, initiative, attention to detail and helping one another. This is a key role within our business, with the opportunity to become a trusted and genuinely valued member of the team.

What we offer

  • A varied role where your contribution will be noticed and appreciated
  • A friendly, down-to-earth team environment
  • The opportunity to work closely with the owners and across all areas of the business
  • A stable weekday position within an established New Zealand company
  • Full training in our systems, products and processes
  • A role with real responsibility, variety and the freedom to take ownership

If you are an organised, caring and capable all-rounder who loves being the person everyone can rely on, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply through SEEK with your CV and a brief cover letter telling us why this role appeals to you and what makes you a great all-rounder.

Other offers great for you!
