JOB DESCRIPTION – HOSPITAL RECEPTIONIST

Position: Receptionist
Department: Front Office / Administration
Location: Pulmonic A Multispeciality Hospital
Reporting To: Front Office Manager / Hospital Administrator

Job Summary

The Receptionist will be responsible for managing the hospital front desk, assisting patients and attendants, handling appointments, calls, registrations, billing coordination, and maintaining smooth front-office operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients, attendants, and visitors professionally.
• Handle patient registration and provide accurate information regarding hospital services.
• Manage OPD appointments, doctor schedules, and patient queues.
• Attend and transfer incoming calls appropriately.
• Guide patients regarding OPD, departments, rooms, diagnostics, pharmacy, and other services.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, billing, TPA, pharmacy, and other departments.
• Maintain patient records, registration details, and front-desk documentation.
• Handle appointment confirmations and follow-up calls.
• Assist patients with admission, discharge, and billing-related coordination when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Handle patient queries and complaints politely and escalate issues to the concerned authority.
• Maintain proper cleanliness, discipline, and professional appearance at the reception area.
• Perform other front-office duties assigned by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate / 12th Pass with relevant hospital experience.
• Previous experience in a hospital/clinic front office will be preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of hospital software/HMIS will be an advantage.
• Hindi and English communication skills preferred.
• Pleasant personality, patience, and professional behaviour.
• Ability to work in shifts as per hospital requirements.

Duty Details

Duty Hours: 8 Hours per Shift
Shift: Day / Night / Rotational as per roster
Weekly Off: As per hospital duty roster
Leaves: As per hospital policy
