Receptionist

About the role

This is an 8-month seasonal contract position at À la Kood, a warm-atmosphere resort on a lagoon on Koh Kood island. You will care for guests from before they travel, through booking and room sales, to ensuring their stay is smooth and memorable. You will be the point of contact for guests, handling reservations, sales, check-in/check-out, and guest support.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to chat, phone, and email inquiries and manage room bookings
• Recommend and sell rooms suited to guest needs
• Handle check-in, check-out, payments, and related documentation
• Provide information about travel, activities, restaurants, and locations on Koh Kood
• Coordinate with housekeeping, dining, transfers, and other teams
• Address and resolve guest issues with courtesy and patience
• Help develop checklists, forms, and reception department procedures
• Contribute ideas to increase room sales and improve guest experience

About you

• Good character, compassionate, and able to work well with others
• Hardworking, responsible, and proactive without needing instruction at every step
• Problem-solver who thinks "how can I fix this?" rather than "I can't"
• Able to communicate warmly, naturally, and confidently with guests
• Able to communicate in English with international guests
• Detail-oriented and able to use computers, chat, and basic booking systems
• Able to work shifts, live on Koh Kood, and complete the full 8-month contract
• Hotel or resort experience is a plus, but character, attitude, and willingness to learn are prioritised most

Some of our systems are still being developed, so this role suits someone who sees what is not yet in order and helps think through solutions, organise, create checklists, and find ways to make work easier.
