What they need
Company Description
Duplo Ribeira by Petit Palace is a contemporary boutique hotel located in the heart of Porto, just steps from the historic Ribeira district and the Douro River. Combining modern design with the character and authenticity of one of Porto’s most iconic neighbourhoods, the hotel offers guests a welcoming and distinctive stay in the city.
As part of the Petit Palace Hotels group, Duplo Ribeira is committed to attentive, personalised hospitality, creating memorable experiences through genuine service, local knowledge, and careful attention to every detail of the guest journey.
Role Description
The Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Porto and is one of the main points of contact for guests throughout their stay.
Day-to-day responsibilities include welcoming guests, managing check-in and check-out procedures, responding to phone and email enquiries, handling reservations and payments, and providing clear and personalised information about hotel services, Porto, and local attractions.
The role also involves maintaining accurate guest records, anticipating guest needs, resolving requests or issues efficiently, and coordinating closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and other hotel teams to ensure a smooth and consistent guest experience.
Beyond traditional front desk duties, we are looking for someone who enjoys creating genuine connections with guests and contributing actively to a warm, professional, and welcoming hotel environment.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a warm, professional, and guest-focused approach.
- Previous experience in reception, front office, hospitality, or other guest-facing roles is valued.
- Experience with check-in/check-out procedures, reservations, guest correspondence, and payment handling is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several priorities effectively.
- Confidence in handling guest requests and resolving unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
- Good computer literacy and ability to learn hotel management and reservation systems.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with different hotel departments.
- Good knowledge of Porto and enthusiasm for sharing local recommendations with guests is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is required; knowledge of Spanish, French, or other languages is highly valued.
We are looking for someone who combines professionalism with personality — a person who understands that great hospitality is not only about completing procedures, but about making every guest feel genuinely welcome in Porto.
