RECEPTION / GUEST SERVICES TEAM MEMBER - QUEENSTOWN

We’re looking for our next Reception Team Member at Absoloot Hostel QT.

Based right on Queenstown’s lakefront, our reception team sits at the centre of the operation.  This is a hands-on role combining guest service, reservation management, tour sales and day-to-day operational responsibilities.

THE ROLE:

On a typical shift you’ll be responsible for:

• Looking after guests and responding to questions, requests and problems

• Managing reservations and guest information accurately

• Booking Queenstown activities and experiences as a tour sales agent

• Helping supervise and coordinate our back-of-house team while on shift

• Completing daily laundry and cleaning tasks as part of the wider hostel operation

• Keeping reception and the operation running smoothly when things get busy

This isn't purely a desk-based reception role.  We’re looking for someone comfortable switching between guests, systems, staff and practical tasks throughout a shift.

AVAILABILITY & COMMITMENT:

Absoloot operates seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.

Our current reception shifts fall between approximately 8:45am and 9:30pm.  We try to keep individual rosters as consistent as possible, but flexibility is essential and fixed days or shifts cannot always be guaranteed.

We’re ideally looking for people who intend to stay in Queenstown and in the role long term (more than just a season).  You must hold a valid New Zealand work visa with sufficient remaining duration, New Zealand residency, or NZ or Australian citizenship.
