Receptionist

Taranaki Community Law provides free legal help and education to people across our region who wouldn't otherwise have access to it. As our Receptionist, you're the first person our clients meet — often on a hard day — and how you greet them sets the tone for everything that follows.

This is a part-time, job-share role: 15 hours a week, every Thursday and Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm. You'll work alongside a second Receptionist who covers Monday to Wednesday, handing over smoothly between you so nothing falls through the cracks. It's a genuinely varied role — booking appointments, managing calls and mail, entering client information accurately, and helping people feel heard and respected from the moment they walk or call in.

We're looking for someone organised, discreet, and calm under pressure — someone who can stay cool and kind with a stressed or upset client, and who takes real pride in getting the details right. No legal background required; what matters is your people skills and your reliability.
