Receptionist

About the role

As the first point of contact for McArdle Freight, you will play an important role in managing a busy reception with a high volume of incoming telephone calls, while providing administrative support to the wider team. This role requires someone who is confident on the telephone.

Key responsibilities

• Answering and directing a high volume of incoming telephone calls in a friendly, confident and efficient manner
• Taking accurate messages and ensuring information is communicated promptly
• Managing the reception email inbox and responding to emails clearly and accurately
• Assisting with arranging and coordinating freight movements
• Greeting and assisting visitors to the office
• Providing general administrative support to the wider team

About you

• A high level of competency in spoken and written English is essential
• A clear, professional and friendly telephone manner and confidence handling a high volume of calls
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
• General confidence using computers, email and office systems
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous reception or administration experience would be helpful; however, previous transport, freight or logistics experience is not required
• Applicants must already reside in Australia and have current legal working rights in Australia
