What they need

About Us
Lakeview Veterinary is a new veterinary clinic opening in Orem, and we're looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our team from the beginning.

This position is primarily focused on reception and client service (approximately 80%), with the remaining time spent assisting with patient care, clinic upkeep, and other needs of the veterinary team.

We're building a workplace that is relaxed and friendly while still professional, hardworking, and focused on excellent patient care. As a new and growing clinic, we're looking for people who enjoy working as part of a close-knit team and aren't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed.

Veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. For us, personality, reliability, work ethic, and a willingness to learn are more important than knowing everything on your first day.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibility will be helping create an excellent experience for our clients and their pets. Responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting clients and helping them feel welcome
  • Answering phones and responding to client questions
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Checking clients and patients in and out
  • Collecting and processing payments
  • Communicating with clients by phone, text, and other clinic systems
  • Managing appointment reminders and follow-up communication
  • Receiving and coordinating prescription requests
  • Maintaining accurate client and patient records
  • Discussing estimates, costs, services, and available care options with clients
  • Educating clients about recommended services, preventive care, and products after appropriate training
  • Assisting the veterinary team with animal restraint, exam-room assistance, patient care, and other clinical tasks based on training and demonstrated competency
  • Using veterinary software and other technology throughout the workday
  • Helping keep exam rooms, kennels, treatment areas, and client areas clean and organized
  • Assisting with laundry, stocking, sanitizing equipment, trash, and general clinic cleanup
  • Helping with other responsibilities as needed to keep a small veterinary practice running smoothly

As you become trained and demonstrate competency, you'll have greater independence in handling routine client needs and assisting the medical team.

Who We're Looking For

We're especially interested in someone who is:

  • Friendly and welcoming
  • Comfortable talking with people in person and over the phone
  • Calm under pressure
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to reliable attendance
  • Comfortable discussing costs and financial options with clients
  • Compassionate and professional when working with upset or emotional pet owners
  • Comfortable learning and using technology
  • Willing to learn new veterinary and customer-service skills
  • Able to take feedback and continue developing
  • A team player who is willing to help outside their normal responsibilities
  • Interested in helping build a positive, collaborative, low-drama workplace

Because we're starting with a small team, dependability matters. Every team member plays an important role in keeping the clinic running and providing a great experience for our clients and patients.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6+ months of veterinary experience preferred, but not required
  • Veterinary reception, customer service, medical office, or animal-care experience is helpful
  • Veterinary certification is not required
  • We will provide training for a candidate who has the right attitude, work ethic, and ability to learn

This is currently a part-time position with potential to become a full-time position.

Pay: $14.00 - $23.00 per hour
