Receptionist/Insurance Agent Trainee

Job Overview

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is professional, personable and interested in building a career in the insurance industry. Previous insurance experience is welcome but is not required. We are willing to train the right person and help a motivated candidate develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed insurance professional.

The position will begin with an emphasis on reception, customer service and day-to-day agency support. As you learn the business and become licensed, there will be opportunities to take on additional insurance responsibilities and develop into a more advanced role within the agency.

Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Requirements

Is fluent in both English and Spanish

Communicates clearly and professionally

Is dependable, organized and comfortable working with the public

Has good computer and telephone skills

Is willing to learn and accept coaching

Wants an opportunity to develop professionally rather than simply looking for a short-term receptionist position

Can work in our Pasadena office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and greet customers professionally

Assist customers with routine questions and requests

Help maintain customer records and follow up on outstanding items

Support licensed agents with policy and customer-service activities

Communicate with customers in both English and Spanish

Learn insurance products, terminology and agency procedures

Work toward obtaining a California insurance license if not already licensed

Develop the skills necessary to take on greater customer-service and sales responsibilities
