What they need
If you already work in supported housing and want to grow as a leader while staying hands-on with residents, this could be the role for you.
About us
- We run recovery-focused supported housing in Telford for adults affected by addiction and mental health difficulties.
- We provide safe homes and housing-related support, so people can keep their tenancy, build independence and move forward in recovery.
- We’re experts by experience. We understand when others don’t.
- The work is challenging, rewarding and sometimes chaotic. Resilience, authenticity and a sense of humour go a long way here.
About the role
- Manage 17 supported housing places across five shared properties.
- Lead, supervise and develop a small team of Housing Workers and volunteers.
- Oversee referrals, occupancy, voids, rent accounts, Housing Benefit and compliance.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns, incidents and complex resident situations.
- Work with Y Housing (our Registered Provider), local authorities and partner agencies.
- Get hands-on, with real scope to shape the service.
Essential skills
- Experience of supported housing, housing-related support, tenancy sustainment or supported accommodation services
- Experience supporting adults affected by addiction, mental health difficulties or other complex social needs
- Relevant Level 4 Housing qualification (or you’re willing and able to begin one within 6 months of joining)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries
- Ability to remain calm, resilient and professional when managing challenging situations
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to build genuine, trusting relationships whilst maintaining accountability and boundaries
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
Even better if you have lived experience of recovery or complex needs, experience supervising staff or volunteers, knowledge of peer support or the voluntary sector, or relevant housing, care or leadership qualifications.
You don’t need to tick every box. If you share our values and think you could do this role well, we would love to hear from you.
Pay: £32,448.00-£35,776.00 per year
