About the Role

Help bring recreation programs and community events to life! The City of Grandview’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a dependable Recreation Aide to support recreation programs, special events, amphitheater concerts, and the Mobile Recreation Unit.

Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, you will help prepare activity spaces, assist participants, and keep programs organized and welcoming.

What You’ll Do

• Set up equipment and activity areas for programs, games, and special events.
• Assist with youth activities, supervise games, and provide scorekeeping as assigned.
• Support concession stand setup and operations.
• Answer participant questions about facility rules, programs, and activities.
• Monitor equipment use and help maintain order by enforcing established rules.
• Maintain equipment and help keep facilities clean, organized, and secure.
• Assist with basic clerical tasks and other program support duties.

What You’ll Need

• Be at least 15 years old.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with adults and children from diverse backgrounds.
• Dependability and the ability to follow directions, work independently, and complete tasks on time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to handle stressful or sensitive situations professionally.
• First Aid/CPR certification and a Food Handler’s Permit, or willingness to obtain both.
• Ability to operate equipment required for assigned duties.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and as needed.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
