Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement diverse recreational programs and resident events that promote engagement and enjoyment
• Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) to support independence and comfort
• Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions and attentive communication
• Coordinate with team members to ensure activities are accessible and inclusive for residents with disabilities or special needs
• Manage schedules for activities, ensuring timely execution and smooth transitions between events
• Maintain detailed records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes to inform future programming
• Support residents’ social work needs by providing companionship, counseling on aging issues, and facilitating memory care activities

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care within assisted living or nursing home environments
• Familiarity with Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care strategies
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
• Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility support, medication reminders, or personal hygiene tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes
• Knowledge of long-term care practices, home & community care services, and working with geriatric patients
• Experience developing programs tailored to seniors’ interests and abilities
• Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
• Team leadership skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team
• Compassionate approach to working with individuals experiencing disabilities or cognitive decline

Pay: $19.20 - $25.00 per hour
