Courage Recreation Therapy Services

Greater Sacramento Area | Community-Based
This role is for someone who understands that:

Skill-building happens the most effectively through play.

Leisure is healthcare.

Every client is a whole human — not a behavior plan.

Dignity of risk matters.

Joy is therapeutic.

We provide individualized recreation therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities in community settings throughout the Greater Sacramento area. Our work is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and rooted in autonomy and real-life skill development.
If you are the kind of recreation therapist who designs sessions around who the person is, not just what their goals say, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Be Doing

Conducting recreation therapy assessments and writing individualized treatment plans or following already completed plans

Embedding functional skill-building into meaningful leisure experiences

Facilitating community-based sessions (parks, art spaces, movement, volunteering, etc.)

Collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams

Writing clear, ethical documentation

Practicing in alignment with client dignity and choice
