What they need

About DCM At DCM, we deliver efficient integrated industrial and commercial construction, maintenance, and turnaround services. With a tremendous depth of knowledge, extensive experience, and demonstrated success across many markets in Canada and internationally, we build lasting partnerships with our clients.

We are guided by our core values: Right, Rigor, Integrity, Governance, Humility, and Tenacity . These values shape how we work, how we treat each other, and how we show up for our clients every day. We are proud to work with talented and qualified employees who bring a variety of skills to our organization, contributing directly to our growth and success.

Ideal Candidate: Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with recruitment, co-op, internship, or HR experience considered an asset. We are looking for someone with the grit to keep pace with industrial construction and a genuine desire to grow their HR career.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Human Resources and eager to build a long-term career in the field. Whether you are a recent graduate, an experienced recruiter looking to expand your HR knowledge, or an HR professional seeking broader exposure, this role offers opportunities to learn, develop, and grow.

Construction experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys building relationships, and wants to grow with a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for skilled trades, supervisors, and technical roles across industrial construction projects — from intake through offer acceptance
  • Source and attract candidates through direct outreach, networking, job fairs, and career events
  • Build proactive talent pipelines for high-demand trades including welders, pipefitters, millwrights, ironworkers, electricians, and more
  • Partner closely with project managers, superintendents, and site leadership to forecast workforce needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and industry associations
  • Coordinate all pre-access and onboarding requirements, including certifications, drug and alcohol testing, and site-specific safety orientations
  • Screen and interview candidates with a strong focus on both technical and cultural fit
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and requisition statuses in the ATS and provide timely updates to stakeholders
  • Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, and source effectiveness
  • Provide day-to-day support to the HR Manager across a broad range of HR functions and initiatives
  • Support HR initiatives, reporting, and special projects as the team grows

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration – Human Resources (strongly preferred)
  • 1–4 years of recruitment experience; industrial construction, trades, oil & gas, or heavy civil experience is a strong asset
  • Working knowledge of union environments
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply Collective Agreements
  • Experience supporting both union and non-union workforces
  • Familiarity with employment contracts and offer letter administration
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s licence; occasional site visits required
  • CPHR in progress is welcomed

Growth & Development At DCM, we believe in developing future HR professionals. This role offers hands-on experience across recruitment, workforce planning, labour relations, employee relations, compensation, and HR projects within a fast-paced industrial construction environment.

Working closely with the HR Manager and operational leaders, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the employee lifecycle while building the skills needed to advance your HR career. Whether your goal is to become an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or HR Manager, DCM provides opportunities to take on increasing responsibility, develop new skills, and grow within the organization.
