Recruiter

Subcool Mechanical Inc. is seeking an organized, proactive, and people-focused Recruiter to support our growing workforce. The Recruiter will be responsible for managing the initial stages of the recruitment process, maintaining job postings, sourcing and pre-screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and maintaining an active pipeline of qualified candidates. This position will work closely with management and operations to understand current and upcoming staffing requirements and help ensure Subcool Mechanical has qualified personnel available to meet project demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage job postings across recruiting platforms such as Indeed and other applicable employment websites.
• Create, post, update, refresh, and close job advertisements as staffing requirements change.
• Review incoming resumes and applications daily and identify candidates who meet position requirements.
• Conduct initial virtual pre-screening interviews with potential candidates.
• Evaluate candidates based on experience, qualifications, certifications, availability, wage expectations, location, and overall suitability for the position.
• Verify trade qualifications, apprenticeship levels, relevant construction experience, and required certifications where applicable.
• Identify and actively source qualified candidates rather than relying solely on incoming applications.
• Maintain regular communication with promising candidates throughout the recruitment process.
• Provide management with clear candidate summaries and recommendations following pre-screening.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date candidate pipeline for current and anticipated staffing requirements.
• Track applicants through each stage of the recruitment process, including application, pre-screening, interview, offer, hired, declined, and unsuccessful candidates.
• Follow up with candidates promptly to maintain a professional and positive candidate experience.
• Assist with reference checks and employment verification when required.
• Work with management to identify urgent hiring needs and prioritize recruitment accordingly.
• Support employee referral initiatives and track referred candidates.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation.
• Ensure candidate information is handled professionally and confidentially.
• Communicate required pre-employment documentation, safety certifications, testing, and orientation requirements to successful candidates.
• Provide regular recruitment updates to management, including open positions, candidate activity, interviews, offers, and outstanding staffing requirements.
• Continuously look for ways to improve Subcool Mechanical’s recruitment and hiring processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous recruiting, administrative, or construction industry experience is considered an asset.
• Experience using Indeed or similar recruiting platforms is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable conducting pre-screening interviews.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple open positions and candidates simultaneously.
• Ability to recognize relevant skills and experience when reviewing resumes.
• Professional and confident when communicating with candidates.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and online recruiting systems.

Key ExpectationsThe successful Recruiter will be expected to maintain an active recruitment pipeline rather than waiting for staffing shortages to occur. They should understand Subcool Mechanical’s workforce requirements, actively seek qualified candidates, communicate efficiently with applicants and management, and help ensure the company has access to reliable, skilled employees as project demands change.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
