Recruiting and Training Assistant

The Job

We are the Farmers Insurance district office serving southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas. Our mission is simple: we find talented people and help them build successful insurance agencies of their own. We recruit, train, and coach agency owners from their first conversation with us through their launch and beyond. We're a small, high-energy team, and the person in this role will have a direct hand in the district's growth.

The Role

We're looking for a dynamic, self-motivated person to help us recruit new agents and support their training. You'll be the first point of contact for many candidates, so you need to be comfortable starting conversations, telling our story, and recognizing entrepreneurial talent when you see it. Because you'll also help new agents learn the business, you need to have sold insurance yourself and understand what it takes to succeed.

What You'll Do

• Source agent and agency-owner candidates through Indeed, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, networking events, and direct outreach
• Make first contact with candidates by phone, text, and email, and conduct initial screening conversations
• Schedule interviews and keep candidates moving through the recruiting pipeline with consistent follow-up
• Build real relationships with candidates, many of whom are weighing a major career change
• Guide new agents through licensing, appointment, and onboarding steps
• Help deliver training on sales process, products, quoting, and agency systems
• Track recruiting activity and new-agent progress, and report results to the District Manager
• Represent the district at career fairs, community events, and recruiting functions

What We're Looking For

• Insurance sales experience (required); property & casualty experience preferred
• Active Missouri P&C license, or the ability to obtain one quickly; Life & Health a plus
• Outgoing, confident communicator who is comfortable on the phone and with cold outreach
• Organized and dependable with follow-up, since recruiting is won in the follow-through
• Coachable, positive, and motivated by helping other people succeed
• Comfortable with social media, LinkedIn, and basic CRM or tracking tools
• Prior recruiting, training, or coaching experience is a plus but not required
