Recruiting Coordinator

About the Role

Sierra Expediting Inc. is looking for a motivated and results-driven Driver Recruiter to join our growing logistics team. This position will be responsible for sourcing, contacting, screening, and onboarding qualified commercial drivers for our transportation operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is comfortable making a high volume of calls, following up with applicants, and building relationships with drivers. Previous experience recruiting CDL or transportation professionals is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and recruit qualified CDL and commercial drivers through Indeed, recruiting platforms, social media, job boards, referrals, and other channels.
• Review applications and identify qualified candidates based on company requirements.
• Conduct phone screens and initial interviews with prospective drivers.
• Explain available driving opportunities, compensation, schedules, equipment, and company expectations.
• Maintain consistent follow-up with candidates throughout the recruiting process.
• Coordinate driver applications, onboarding, background checks, and required documentation.
• Maintain an organized recruiting pipeline and accurately update candidate information.
• Build and maintain a strong network of professional drivers.
• Work closely with operations and management to understand current hiring needs.
• Meet established recruiting and hiring goals.
• Develop creative strategies to attract qualified drivers in a competitive market.
• Provide a professional and positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Qualifications

• Previous recruiting experience preferred; transportation/CDL recruiting experience is a major plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and following up with candidates.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple candidates simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, competitive, and results-oriented.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an operations team.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn recruiting software and transportation systems.
• Professional and confident phone presence.
• Experience with Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Facebook recruiting, or other driver recruiting platforms is a plus.

We want someone who takes ownership of recruiting results. This isn’t a position where you simply post jobs and wait for applications. You will be expected to actively source candidates, make calls, build relationships, and consistently move qualified drivers through the hiring process.

Someone with a strong transportation network or existing driver contacts is highly encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Competitive base salary + performance-based incentives/bonuses.

Compensation will be based on experience and recruiting performance.
