Recruitment – IoT Domain Manager – Digital Hardware (Alost/Aalst, Belgium)

Context

As part of the development of its Digital Hardware activities, an international industrial company is strengthening its Digital Factory based in Belgium.

This team (around 15 people) brings together expertise related to connected devices, digital platforms, and associated software solutions.

In a context of organizational changes and new projects, the company is recruiting an IoT Domain Manager responsible for ensuring the technical and operational consistency of IoT solutions deployed for its clients.

The role will notably contribute to:

• the implementation of a new IoT platform

• the development of new connected devices

• the evolution of existing architectures

Mission

The IoT Domain Manager acts as the technical reference and domain coordinator for IoT solutions.

The role ensures consistency between:

• IoT devices deployed in the field

• digital platforms

• internal and external technical partners

The position is responsible for data quality, overall solution performance, and the management of technical evolutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Governance of IoT Solutions

• Ensure the proper functioning of connected devices and associated services

• Guarantee data quality, security, and integrity

• Oversee the overall technical architecture of the solutions

Project Coordination and Development

• Drive the technical evolutions defined in the IoT roadmap

• Write or formalize functional and technical specifications

• Coordinate all stakeholders involved (internal teams, partners, subcontractors)

Solution Lifecycle Management

• Organize testing, validation, and production deployment phases

• Ensure version tracking and technical documentation

• Guarantee the maintainability and long-term sustainability of solutions

Advanced Technical Support

• Provide Level 3 support in case of critical incidents

• Identify root causes of malfunctions

• Propose and implement corrective solutions

Business and Field Support

• Occasionally participate in discussions with commercial or operational teams

• Contribute to solution improvements based on field feedback

• Train and support internal teams on IoT solutions

Profile Sought

We are looking for a technical and operational profile, capable of deeply understanding IoT solutions while coordinating projects.

This role does not involve team management responsibilities.

Typical backgrounds include:

• IoT Project Manager

• IoT Tech Lead

• IoT Product Owner

• Delivery-oriented IoT Architect

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of IoT architectures (Edge / Cloud)

• Knowledge of IoT sensors and communication systems

• Connectivity technologies such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, or equivalent

• Understanding of IoT platforms and data architectures

• Good ability to understand hardware / software integration

Key Competencies

• Technical project management

• Ability to structure and formalize requirements

• Strong technical diagnostic skills

• Clear communication with technical and business teams

• Pragmatic and problem-solving oriented mindset

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with IoT solutions

• Engineering degree or equivalent

• Experience in industrial or technological environments is a plus
