Recruitment Manager

The Recruitment Manager is the one responsible for the step-by-step recruitment procedure for new applicants. He coordinates with the Operations Manager and Fleet Manager for all open positions.

In the absence of the Recruitment Manager, the Deputy Recruitment Officer will take over all his task related to recruitment matters.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering or any bachelor’s degree course.

• Preferable to have commanded as a Junior Officer for a minimum of 2 years or possess a senior management license if of technical background.

• Must have an extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 2 years holding a Junior Managerial position or its equivalent if of technical background.

• Must have an extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 3 years holding a Junior Managerial position or its equivalent if of non-technical background.

Core Job Functions:

• The Recruitment Manager ensures that the initial interview of all new applicants has been conducted as per company requirements.

• The Recruitment Manager maintains the recruitment report pertaining to the statistics of approval and rejection ratio of all ranks and proposes solutions to improve the recruitment processes.

• The Recruitment Manager is responsible for sourcing of prospective candidates through various recruitment schemes.

• The Recruitment Manager is responsible for keeping the original documents of the seafarers and assess the crew if qualified for retention/pool for future requirements.

• The Recruitment Manager is responsible in monitoring all CBT examination, making sure that they are properly completed and conducted honestly and fairly.

• He is responsible for endorsing the qualified applicants to the Crew Managers for their proposal.

• He is the overall responsible for the monitoring of the company’s cadetship program.

• He is responsible for the monitoring of all recommended relatives, ensuring that they will be properly managed and deployed in a timely manner.

• Must have the skills to solve problems and maximize resources.

• Must have the knowledge and understanding of HR and recruitment skills.

• He must have a vast network within the shipping industry in order to effectively and pro-actively recruit seafarers.

• Must be knowledgeable on computer operating systems, office software and applications

Significant Factors:

• He must have the ability to work extra hours.

• He must possess the ability to plan and innovate and come up with new and effective recruitment schemes.

• He must possess a good knowledge on statistical analysis for the required monthly reports.

• He must possess an excellent inter-personal skill in dealing with prospective applicants.
