Recycling Operator

Job Summary

Duties

• Operate and perform routine maintenance on conveyors, auto-tie balers, maual tie balers, forklifts, and possibly skid steers.
• Handle recyclable materials with precision, ensuring proper sorting, storage, and disposal in accordance with environmental compliance standards
• Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment and material handling tools to ensure safe operation and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when necessary
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during outdoor work activities in various weather conditions
• Assist with cleaning work areas, maintaining cleanliness of the facility, and ensuring safe pathways for all personnel

Experience

• Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of solid waste management practices and recycling procedures
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to hazardous materials handling and outdoor work environments
• Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence
• Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or sanitation industries is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
• Strong commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable waste practices
