Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Specialist

Hybrid: 3 days per week in Warsaw office.

Start : up till Jan/Feb 2027.

Contract lenght: Long term, 12/24 months contracts with prolongations.

Project Context:

• Our Client is building a strategic virtualization platform based on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization as an alternative virtualization offering alongside its existing VMware landscape.
• The new platform will be developed in close cooperation with Red Hat, which will provide architecture and design guidance.
• VMware remains part of the environment and will continue operating in parallel. The goal is not migration away from VMware but establishing an additional enterprise virtualization platform.
• The organization already has experience with Red Hat technologies through existing container platform initiatives in other departments.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Operations Specialist to help establish and operate a new enterprise virtualization platform. This is primarily an operational role rather than an architecture-focused position. The successful candidate will play a key role in building operational excellence, defining best practices, supporting platform adoption, and mentoring virtualization engineers within the team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Strengthen and develop operational capabilities for the Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platform.
• Drive platform administration, incident management, troubleshooting, and capacity planning activities.
• Work closely with the Virtualization Team to establish operational processes and production readiness.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code standards, operational documentation, and automation initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for other virtualization specialists within the Warsaw-based team.
• Collaborate with Red Hat and internal stakeholders to support platform implementation and ongoing operations.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise virtualization and infrastructure operations.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, Red Hat virtualization technologies, or related virtualization platforms.
• Strong Linux administration background.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Understanding of enterprise networking, storage, and security concepts.
• Ability to work in operational environments and support mission-critical infrastructure.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OpenShift administration and operations.
• Hands-on exposure to KubeVirt.
• Experience designing enterprise platform solutions and architectures.
• Knowledge of enterprise technology roadmaps and platform transformation initiatives.
• Previous experience mentoring technical teams.
• Experience working with Red Hat support and professional services teams.

Team Structure:

• Warsaw Team: 1 Operations Specialist and 3 VMware Specialists (growing to 5 team members).
• The role involves close collaboration with both local and international stakeholders.

Working Hours: Standard business hours (08:00–18:00 CET), collaborating with both local and global teams.
