Referral & Insurance Coordinator

Family Care ENT is looking for a Referral & Insurance Coordinator to join Dr. Herman Matallana’s team. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with patients, insurance companies, and other medical offices.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient responsibility.
• Determine if referrals, prior authorizations, or PCP authorizations are required.
• Obtain authorizations for office procedures when needed.
• Use insurance portals and communicate with insurance companies by phone.
• Process and manage incoming and outgoing referrals.
• Follow up with patients and referring offices to make sure referrals are scheduled and completed.
• Follow up on pending referrals, authorizations, and missing information.
• Communicate completed referral information to Dr. Matallana for patient follow-up.
• Maintain accurate referral and insurance documentation.

Requirements

• 1+ year of medical office experience
• Insurance verification experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable using insurance portals and electronic medical systems
• Comfortable communicating with insurance companies, patients, physician offices, and medical facilities
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Dependable, professional, and able to multitask

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
