Refinery Head

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Refinery Head leads the entire refinery operation (physical and chemical refining)—covering production, quality, safety, compliance, and refinery maintenance—ensuring efficient, cost-effective, high-quality output while meeting regulatory standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibility:

Oversee refinery operations: production, maintenance, utilities, and administration.

Quality & Food Safety

• Define and enforce quality policies, SOPs, and KPIs.
• Guarantee compliance with food safety standards (local and export regulations).
• Lead audits, traceability systems, and complaint management.

Production & Process Optimization

• Drive production planning and scheduling aligned with the commercial team.
• Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machinery, chemicals, utilities).
• Monitor and coordinate the inventory of utilities and chemicals
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing).

Technical Expertise

• Manage refining processes: chemical refining, physical refining, acidulation.

Documentation Management and Reporting

• Generates daily production reports
• Records all activities, routine, plant capacity, and performance
• Submits reports regarding plant operation and activities. Must be able to explain all operations or activities that deviate from standard and give recommendations for the improvement of operations.

Management of Non-conforming Process and Services

• Evaluates refinery personnel job performance, including past, present, and potential problems
• Maintains a wide awareness of plant performance and employee attitude, and gives recommendations constantly.
• Supervises repairs and servicing of all equipment in the refinery plant.
• Coordinates and schedules activities during shutdowns.
• Observes anti-pollution regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A graduate of Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related courses (Licensed is not required but an advantage.)
• Requires at least 5 years of coconut refining work experience.
• Willing to work at Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte.
