Refinery Plant Operator

Key Responsibilities

· Execute daily operations according to instructions from the Production Supervisor or Process Engineer.

· Maintain and update production logbooks and records for assigned areas.

· Monitor process parameters, pumps, motors, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment for proper operation.

· Manage refinery and CPS operations efficiently.

· Immediately report operational emergencies, abnormal conditions, or equipment faults to the Supervisor/Process Engineer and ensure corrective action.

· Operate and monitor PLC and SCADA systems to ensure smooth plant operations.

· Be available to work in rotational shift operations as per the plant schedule.

· Actively participate in shutdown and maintenance activities to ensure safe and timely execution.

· Report daily shift production and operational status to Management.

· Follow the Work Permit System and company operational procedures.

· Comply strictly with HSE standards and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

· Train and guide Assistant Operators on operational tasks, safety procedures, and process compliance.

· Ensure fire and safety systems are operational; report any faults or damage.

· Support basic laboratory sampling and testing activities where required.

· Update SAP records accurately for production, quality, and operational tracking.

Education:

· ITI/12th /Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline.

· Additional training in HSE, process operations, IMS, or hazardous material handling is preferred.

Experience:

· Min 5 years of experience in refinery or chemical plant operations.

· Basic hands-on knowledge of process parameters, equipment monitoring, and plant operation.

· Experience in monitoring pumps, motors, compressors, and other plant equipment is preferred.

· Familiarity with PLC and SCADA system operation.

· Experience in supervising or mentoring Assistant Operators is advantageous.

· Experienced in shutdown maintenance and plant operations.
