Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician (RAC Tech)

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Setup:

• Install new air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems in commercial or residential settings.
• Set up and calibrate systems to meet operational and energy efficiency standards.

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Perform regular maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing units.
• Diagnose and repair issues such as cooling failures, leaks, compressor issues, and electrical malfunctions.

Troubleshooting:

• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning and refrigeration units.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately detect problems and resolve them promptly.

System Optimization:

• Ensure all systems operate efficiently, minimizing energy consumption and improving performance.
• Recommend improvements and upgrades to existing systems to enhance efficiency and extend lifespan.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards when working with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ensure that all repairs and installations comply with environmental and regulatory codes, including refrigerant handling.

Customer Service:

• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and explaining issues and solutions clearly.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, engineering) to ensure systems are functioning optimally.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including repairs, service schedules, and inventory management of parts and materials.
• Report any issues that require external technical support or large-scale repairs.
