Refrigeration Application Engineer

Beijer Ref UK & Ireland is a leading refrigeration and air conditioning wholesaler, with 40 branches and two central distribution centres. We’re committed to delivering exceptional service, high-quality products, and industry-leading technical support across the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a Technical or Application Engineer to join our Refrigeration Technical team. In this role, you’ll provide expert technical support, select and specify equipment (including A2L and CO₂ systems), prepare quotations, and support both customers and internal teams with product knowledge and application guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pre-sales and after-sales technical support to branches, sales teams, and customers
• Select refrigeration equipment from the company portfolio, ensuring accurate specification
• Prepare professional, detailed quotations when required
• Support Technical and Project Engineers, including occasional site visits
• Take ownership of technical and product management for a designated product range or subject
• Contribute to product development and the introduction of new products
• Deliver technical presentations and product training when needed
• Develop and maintain technical selection tools
• Mentor Trainee Engineers and support team development
• Work to agreed SLAs, KPIs, and company procedures, including GDPR and Health & Safety compliance
• Maintain commercial awareness when supporting customer requirements and negotiating sales

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in refrigeration engineering or similar technical role (A2L and CO₂ preferred)
• Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration equipment and system applications
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer support skills
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Full UK driving licence (site visits may be required)
