Refrigeration Operator (Class B)

One of our food processing clients in Flesherton, ON is looking for a Refrigeration B Operator for their facility.

Shift

• 8 hour rotational

Pay

• $40-$43/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, steam systems, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, and related utilities.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Monitor system performance and maintain accurate operating logs.
• Ensure compliance with TSSA regulations, food safety standards, and company safety policies.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations as required.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid TSSA 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certificate or Refrigeration B Operator Certificate required.
• Experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, steam generation, HVAC, and utility equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call schedules as required.
