Refrigeration Technician

To ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of HVACR (Heating, Ventilating, Air condition and Refrigeration) systems, through scheduling work, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. They also handle technical troubleshooting, coordinate with superior and maintain detailed records of maintenance, repair and others

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Team and operational management:

• Perform daily activities on HVACR(Heating, Ventilating, Air condition and Refrigeration)
• Perform tasks, and work schedules assignment
• Monitor the performance of all HVACR systems and related equipment.
• Ensure operational KPIs and customer service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Maintenance and repair:

• Conduct Planned, Preventative and Corrective maintenance schedules.
• Perform complex repairs, diagnostics, and installations.
• Troubleshoot issues with systems such as chillers, compressors, and air conditioning units.
• Conduct regular inspections and rounds to check the health of the systems.

Technical and administrative duties:

• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, maintenance history, and equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Develop and communicate procedures and best practices to the team.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair plans to Refrigeration supervisors and other managers.
• Recommend the replacement of defective parts or entire systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required skills and qualifications:

• Strong knowledge on HVACR systems, electrical, and mechanical operation and maintenance principles.
• Experience with specific equipment like ammonia or Freon systems, and tools like brazing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects.
• Vocational, high school diploma or equivalent is often required, with vocational training or National certifications on HVAC/DOMRAC being highly beneficial.
